Astrology 101 is a beginner’s introduction into the components of astrology! I treat this course kind of like basic astrological literacy. Its purpose is to give people a baseline understanding of how to look at their natal chart and how to interpret the information there, so they can read it for themselves and develop their own relationships to astrology. We will be learning what the planets do, what the signs mean, what the heck are houses, and WHAT even are aspects? We will be using our own natal charts as examples and we will practice interpreting them and putting it all together!
You will need to bring: A laptop or internet-using device (a phone could work in a pinch? but the screen will be pretty small), a notebook and pen if you want to take notes, and your lovely self.
This is a safer space and exists within a social-justice, anti-oppressive framework. I strive to practice astrology in a way that is non-gendered, non-heteronormative, and doesn’t revolve around sexual or romantic relationships only. I will not tolerate any sort of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, orientation, ability, etc.
About the Facilitator
Kimberly Edgar is an interdisciplinary artist and plant enthusiast who has taken a keen interest in astrology. Kimberly is interested in teaching astrology workshops to teach others a sort of basic ‘astrological literacy’, to empower the student to feel comfortable looking at a natal chart and interpreting it themselves. There are many who find natal charts and astrology esoteric and opaque; Kimberly seeks to demystify the process and teach others the basics so they can use it as a tool in their own life.
