Jonathan Pearce (from Winchester Warm)
Album Launch for “Systems”
Saturday June 1, 2019
After leading local indie-folk outfit Winchester Warm more than a decade and releasing two well-received albums with the group, Jonathan Pearce found himself with a handful of orphan songs that didn’t quite fit in with that band’s repertoire. On a whim and with zero rehearsals, Pearce enlisted local drummer Pat Johnson (Telecomo, the Acorn) to record the bed tracks one frigid November evening at Dave Gervais’ (Mushy Gushy, The Gallop) Swell Studios. The songs were further fleshed out in kitchens and cottages and then brought to life by Dave Draves at Little Bullhorn studios in Ottawa. After hiding behind cryptic monikers for far too many years, Pearce finally decided to release these songs under his own name, and his debut album, “Systems,” is scheduled for release on May 28, 2019.
